Primary Care Medicine Consultations
Designed for patients with chronic medical conditions such as high cholesterol, heart disease or diabetes. Consultation includes a medical history, examination, reviewing previous records and discussing how to treat and control these conditions.
Injury Evaluation Clinics
Injury evaluation clinics are usually available on a same-day or next day basis for high school athletes. We help coordinate care with the school’s athletic training staff to enable a quicker return to sports.
Wellness Exams
Annual comprehensive wellness exams that focus upon screening for diseases as well as information about lifestyle modifications and patient education are performed by our board-certified family medicine doctors. The wellness exam explains, informs and educates the patient about how to improve their health as well as addressing how to modify any disease risk factors.
Family and Sports Medicine Physicians
John M. Martinez, M.D. – Medical Director
Dr. Martinez is a board-certified primary care and sports medicine physician. He is a graduate of the Albany Medical College and completed a residency in family medicine at the St. Anthonys Hospital in Denver, Colorado where he served as chief resident and stayed on as a member of the family medicine residency faculty after graduation. While in residency, he practiced full-scope family medicine – from pediatrics, obstetrics (with over 200 deliveries), adult and geriatric medicine.
He then completed a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at one of the oldest and well-respected fellowships – Kaiser Permanente in Fontana, CA – where he served as a team physician for local high schools and colleges including the NCAA Division I UC-Riverside athletic teams.
Since graduating from the primary care sports medicine fellowship in 2001, he has been in private practice in San Diego county, continuing to see a wide-range of family medicine patients from newborns to older patients in their 80’s, 90’s and beyond.
The practice is currently accepting new family medicine patients.
